In recent years, with the innovation and advance of mobile computing and wireless communication technologies, E-learning will move from the M-learning stage to the U-learning stage. The main difference between U-learning and M-learning is the ability of sensing the context of learning environment by analyzing the multi-sensor data. By this context-aware service, learners are able to interact with the real world and the digital world at the same time. The U-learning system can also detect the context of learners and provide the study guide individually. As smartphone become more and more popular, to realize U-learning based on intelligent sensing will be the trends in future research.This thesis first introduces the development present situation of ubiquitous computing, U-learning and smartphone sensor technology, discusses the fundamental theories and key technologies of intelligent sensing, included location sensing, environment sensing and motion sensing, and then designs U-learning system from the functions are divided into learning, sensor and data of three modules that based on analysis of the basic requirements and the corresponding functions of the system.According to the shortcomings of national defense open day activities, personnel, wide-range, un-interaction, U-learning system based on the intelligent sensor has been deployed in the camp open day of the national defense education scene. The researchers collect information from various sensors by using smartphone and transfer them to the background by the wireless network (mobile communication network or WLAN) for pattern matching and context reasoning, and then derive business according to the situation. This thesis designs and implements the corresponding prototype--National Defense Education System, and has proposed the solution of general framework, main flow, system data structure, software design model and hardware design. This thesis focuses on the design and implementation the subsystems of location sensing, environment sensing and motion sensing. This prototype system has yielded good results in2012national defense open day activities for a military.
