Since the telecommunicaions industry resconstruction in2008, public carriers of China enter an era of all-service operation. With the development of broadband services, the Internet Protocol Tele-Vision and the Internet Data Center of telecom company, IP MAN has gradually grown into a multiple business platform for data, audio and media. While the rapid development of high bandwidth applications brings immense business, it also brings challenges to the IP MAN of telecom carriers. To better adapt to the telecom carrier’s transformation strategy, to meet the rising demand of high bandwidth application, it’s necessary to employ the technology of incremental planning over exiting infrustruction of IP MAN.Based on a realistic planning project starting at2010for a specific local carrier’s IP MAN, this thesis at first analyzes the current status and application development of the IP MAN, include the structure of network, management and control issues, types of business and supporting capacity. Secondly, according to the business demand forecast for2011to2013, the flow classification, the parameter selection and the flow model, this paper calculates the IP MAN’s business flow demands of all levels and the network planning incremental demand of management and operational level. At Last, taking into the consideration of the local cable distribution and the business focus, this thesis presents the principles and directions for the three-year network development, and proposes the planning and the design of the IP MAN project in2011, and analyzes the network performance and economic performance briefly.
