The annual production of ceramic titles in China has reached53million squaremeters which is50%of the world production these years. The ceramic productionamount has accounted for more than50%of all the global ceramic output, and theexports accounted as20%of the global. China has become a very important country toproduce and export ceramic. However, throughout the websites of the major brands ofChinese ceramic, we find that their products are still limited to traditional display wayssuch as pictures, renderings, video shows which have little interaction with customers.The ceramic is lack of a3D interactive virtual display system.This study fills up the blank of3D interactive display in the current ceramicindustry. Users can feel the decoration effect in the scene through virtual realitytechnology. They can not only choose ceramic tile in the scene for decoration. They willfeel realistic and interesting. This study has a good reference value for developing a3Dinteractive ceramic tile system. Quest3D and3Ds Max have lots of advantages such asshort develop time, save money and repeated operation. The interaction is moreconvenient, more natural which will make people feel more realistic. These advantagesmake3D display system based on Quest3D and3Ds Max has broad market prospects inthe ceramic industry on the application.The system is designed and developed by modeling tool of3Ds Max andthree-dimensional engine of Quest3D, which not only provides eight different virtualscenes to show the results after the tile decoration to customers, but also has very stronginteractions. Customers can choose their favorite ceramic tile style, roam in the scenesfreely. Customers can also enjoy the immersive beauty of tile decoration from differentdirections and different angles.The thesis introduces the design ideas of the system, and shows the principles ofscenes construction and interactive functions. It also explains the interface designconcepts of the whole system. During the process of system development, I have beenresponsible for four things. The first thing is designing and implementing villa scene,high-rise building scene, office building scene and kitchen scene. The second thing issetting material in Quest3D. The third thing is realizing roaming and collision detection.And the fourth thing is designing interface of the system. In the dissertation, I use villa scene, high-rise building scene, office building scene and kitchen scene as an exampleto explain the design ideas of scenes, the principles of interactive functions and thedesign concepts of the interface. At the last of thesis, system test is shown. The fidelity,real-time and display effect is tested by scene test. Whether the function is runningsmoothly is tested by interactive function test. Performance test is also done for thesystem.
