This paper first analyzes the background of the subject, and summarizes thedevelopment of the current domestic and international situation and future developmenttrend, then investigates the demand of universities and summarizes the basic collegeteaching management system, thus establishing design goals of the informationmanagement system and achieving the function point.Depending on the goals of the system, combing with some mature solutions andtechnologies, using mainstream Web system three-tier structure (presentation layer, business logic layer and data access layer), I build the architecture of this system overall.According to supposed requirements, I design a suit of data models for universityteaching management system, and make an overview for each model. The systemmodes, development platforms, programming languages, relational database areselected based on current technology of Web system implementation.According to the software design ideas and procedures, the MIS is designed andachieved in detail. Using UML language and starting from the bottom tier to up tier, thispaper describes the main function modules of the three-tier structure in each layer, thebasic appearance and basic functions of these modules. Simple overviews of thetechniques are also introduced. Finally, this paper describes the final effects of thesystem, including what the page looks like, some pages’ responding and interactions, and so on.The final goal is designing and achieving a university teaching MIS which isefficient, convenient, reliable, sharing, huge capacity, open, etc. In order to achieve thegoal of the informationization of teaching management, facilitate the management workof university teaching managers, facilitate students, teachers and university leaders’information query and statistic, for example, student’s enrollment information can bequickly transmitted from the Admissions Office to University Archives Centre andteachers can rate the performance of students at any time and students can easily gettheir schedule.
