The Research Of Intranet Based Teaching Activities In Universities And Institutes Management Information System

Teaching activities are, in universities or institutes, one of the main functions and a important standard of high school management level. In order to improve the management level, many universities and institues developed JWMIS according to their own characteristics of teaching activities. Our university bought a set of teaching-activitiy software, but found that this software can not be matched with the mode of teaching activities of our university.Therefore,based on the research of teaching activities management information system for universities and institues, JWMIS of our university is studied in accordance with the characteristics of our university's teaching activities.In the research ,the emphases are system analysis, system overall frame design and database design.In the system analysis section, several modules such as teaching project module, student status management, teacher management, textbook management, course -selecting management are analysed. In the whole system frame design part, the C/S B/S-mixing compute mode is adopted. In this way, one hand, the cost and period of the developing are reduced greatly, and the terrain limitation of using teaching-activities software is breaked through, on the other hand, the security of primary data, the convenienece, simplicity and rapidly of operation, and good interaction of system are insured. In the database design portion, database theories are first discussed, and then in virtue of database module theories and combined with the characteristics of our university's teaching activities, models are builded by using the traditional modeling,and standardized by using standardization rule,and modified and rectified based on practical condition so as to realize optimization. Rapid Prototyping in the software engineering is used in database modeling. By further understanding operation,the models are regulated so as to not only make the models reflect the real world gradually but also favor the system to possess better performance so thatzmultiple needs of users are satisfied. Finally, DCOM, ASP and XML technology to be used in developing the system are given.From the system analysis and system design, the importance of system analysis in the process of system design is confirmed. Moreover, the following conclusion is drawn that in database modeling, database with high performance can only be designed when the practical condition are combined with the theories of database modeling.
