In the background of new-type multi-beam sounding system requirement, the newstructure of signal acquisition and processing system, which contains a signal acquisition andconditioning platform and two DSP processing modules, is proposed in this dissertation. Thepurpose of this design is to simplify system structure and improve system performance. Atlast, the hardware circuit design and logic verification of this platform is implemented.First of all, an overview of the domestic and foreign development situation ofmulti-beam sounding system is provided. Moreover, the working principle as well ascomposition is also introduced.Secondly, based on the current structure of signal acquisition and conditioning system, anew system structure is proposed. This new one has some advantages such as small size andeasy to upgrade. In particular, the selection of main chip FPGA and DSP is deeplydemonstrated. And then, the communication program between FPGA and DSP, as well as theprogram of data buffer and transmission based on SOPC, is designed in this dissertation.Thirdly, the specific hardware design of the signal acquisition and conditioning platformis realized, which includes FPGA control circuit, signal acquisition circuit, gain control circuit,external memory, serial communication module and PCI bus interface circuit. The designrules of PCB layout, wiring, the power and ground, are discussed. Based on the rules,multilayer PCB design meeting CPCI-6U structure of new multi-beam sounding system iscompleted.Finally, the system sampling rate is determined according to band-pass sampling theorem.After that, the data buffer and transmission system based on SOPC is established, the logicdesign of sampling, D/A and PCI bus interface is also completed. In order to verify thecorrectness of the logic and hardware design, timing simulation by Modelsim software andonline debugging by SignalTap software is achieved. As a result, the platform has reached theavailable level.
