Low voltage power line carrier communication is a novel means ofcommunication of power information collection system. There are a lot of difficultiesto use power line as data channel, such as signal transmission attenuation, highnoise level and unpredictable changes of coupling impedance. Power companies donot have to set up or maintain lines, and they can directly control the transmissionequipments independent of a third party. Low voltage power line carriercommunication can save a lot of cost of additional communication medium andrunning fee. So it becomes the most popular means of communication for electricpower enterprises.This paper analyzed the unreliability of PLC on power line channelcharacteristics and power line network characteristics. Then it proposed relaytechnology strategy in order to achieve efficient and fast routing optimizations. Thensimulation experiments compared two routing model,the ant colony algorithm andclustering algorithm. The experimental results show that, Ant colony algorithmperforms better than the traditional clustering algorithm both on survivability andreliability.Then the paper build a path optimization method based on ant colony algorithmwhich aims for minimum number of hops for the optimization objective. The pathoptimization capabilities of ant colony optimization algorithm in PLC network isdiscussed by theoretical analysis and simulation from the convergence, speed andinvulnerability. The results show that the ant colony algorithm has an advantage overfast convergence. It has good effect in networking and can adapt to dynamicallychanging network topology through which communication range can be extended toany node in the network reliable link.The paper summarizes characteristics of ant colony algorithm and geneticalgorithm, and proposes a routing model with ant colony algorithm whichsupplemented by mechanisms of genetic optimization. Then established aoptimization algorithm model based on minimum transmission delay and minimumpacket loss rate, combined with multi-path selection policy. It can improve thereliability of PLC communication. Simulation results show that the logical networkstructure of the hybrid routing algorithm has higher re liability and superior survivability of performance than the traditional clustering structure as well as theordinary ant colony network structure, providing better network quality of service ontransmission delay and packet loss rate.Finally, the paper pursued project implementation issues of the algorithm on PLCnetwork, and elaborated networking process of ant colony genetic hybrid routingalgorithm. Task division and specific steps of the algorithm of tasks are given. Thenthe structure of the program design of hybrid routing algorithm and softwareprocesses of master node and normal node are elaborated combined with the PLCautomatic meter reading system.
