Design And Implementation Of College Students Information Management System

In a modern university, student management is very important. In recent years, withthe increasingly expanding enrollment in most universities, the number of the studentsgrows rapidly, which directly results in vast amounts of student information. As a result,how to efficiently manage this information becomes a very difficult task to the teachingadministrative personnel. If we continue to follow the old ways of working, so muchworkload and such a variety of complex data will increase much expenditure of manpowerand material resources. It will inevitably produce omissions and errors due to manualoperation. However, due to a wide range of application and popularization of computertechnology, such work as student information management can be implemented completelyby computer. Considering that there is no established software of student management inour college, I designed and developed the system. It can basically meet various usersoperational needs of data; furthermore, it can reserve specified upgrade space for futurenetwork work in case the college scales up.Achieved functions of the system including: score registration for teachers,performance assessment, modification, personal information inquiry for students, scoreinquiry, printing personal report cards, students basic information input or modification forteaching-affair administrators, students make-up examination score inquiry, summarizingand printing, etc.This system adopts the Microsoft Visual Foxpro9.0and sql server2005asdevelopment tools. By using its complete functional components, the designed interface isfriendly and easy to operate. It has applied to the practical work and has contributed greatlyto the information construction process of our college.
