In recent years, with the rapid development of e-commerce in China, online shoppingis increasingly popular, which provides a broad market space for the express deliveryindustry. However, due to the operating of inefficient, high cost and slow response, it isdifficult for the present logistics industry to meet the requirements of the rapiddevelopment of e-commerce. Based on the consideration of the status quo, this thesisbreaks through the limitations of traditional logistics, and studies the location-routingproblem in the city joint distribution system under the new era of e-commerce.Firstly, this thesis reviews the literature on the e-commerce and logistics, the citylogistics and joint distribution, location-routing problem. Secondly, this thesis summarizesthe basic theory of city distribution through the analysis of the relevant literature. Thirdly, this thesis compares the difference between the traditional distribution and the citydistribution under e-commerce, and focus on the analysis of independent distribution andjoint distribution. Fourthly, for the location-routing problem of city joint distribution, thisthesis proposes two location-routing models under the time window constraints. Onemodel considers the situation that the city distribution station is completely new built.Based on the existing city distribution stations, the other one investigates the re-locationdecisions consist of creating new city distribution stations, closing the original distributionstation and expanding the original distribution station. Fifthly, to solve the twolocation-routing problems the thesis proposes a two-stage hybrid heuristic algorithmwhich combines taboo search algorithm and the improved Clarke and Wright savingsalgorithm. Finally, this thesis validates the model and the algorithm through a numericalexample, and discusses the theoretical and practical significance.
