As two important applications of fiber, fiber gas sensing and fiber gas laser havereceived special attention in the communications, navigation, environmental, chemical, andother fields. A lot of work has been done for the study of their optical properties at home andabroad. However, the study of the fiber microfluidic is relatively small, especially for thestudy of microfluidic of photonic crystal fiber and the study of fiber gas-filling properties isless, but it is critical because it directly affects the response characteristics of the fiber gassensing and the frequency stability of the fiber gas laser.This thesis mainly studies the gas-filling characteristics of the fiber, particularly thefiber gas-filling time. The theoretical formula of fiber gas-filling time is derived by solvingthe N-S compressible equations with first-order velocity slip condition to predict the time offilling a fiber, and we also use COMSOL Multiphysics to simulate the cases, showing theresults similar with the calculated value. Meanwhile, the fiber gas-filling experimentalstudies for different pressure, different filling gas, different fiber aperture and different fiberlength have been done in the thesis, and we make some improvements to reduce the fillingtime by associating with the experimental results.On the other hand, we also do the simulation and experimental research of simultaneousmulti-fiber gas-filling, to indirectly reflect the gas-filling characteristics of photonic crystalfiber, and both results are almost in agreement with the theoretical calculations. In addition,we also use the quadrupole mass spectrometer to detect the components of the mixed lasergas in fiber and the filling characteristics of the various components of the mixed gas, andmake corresponding processing on the theoretical formula combining experimental results,so that the theoretical filling time can get good agreement with experimental results.
