The memristor is the fourth basic component besides the resistor, capacitor andinductor. Memristor is a nonlinear resistor with memory function. Its structure is simplewhich is at nanometer’s level and it has good compatibility with conventional CMOScircuit. Memristor could be widely used in programmable logic, signal processing, neuralnetworks, control systems, reconfigurable computing, Brain-computer interfaces, andRFID. Research on memristor’s electronic model and design application on memristor isan important topic in electrical and electronic domain which memristor would change thetraditional circuit and drive the circuit and system revolution.In this paper, The memristor prototype which we developed was tested, then thetypical IV curve was obtained. The electrical character was researched. As electricalmemristor model was built by Matlab, Simulink, Spice respectively. Then all the modelingmethods based on salability and objectivity were compared. Oscillator and filter circuitbased on memristor was designed by the use of negative resistance and resistancecharacteristics of a memristor respectively. The kinetic equation of the oscillator circuitwas deduced, the Q value of the filter was calculated. On the other hand, Circuitsimulation and validation in FPGA was completed. Through Matlab/System Generatorsoftware, the oscillator’s performance was tested, the block diagram of the oscillatordiscrete systems was built. The experiment results proved that the simulation results werein agreement with experiment. This simulation generated ISE project file and downloadedto the Xilinx FPGA. The waveform obtained from the LeCroy oscilloscope was inagreement with the simulation.Compared with the conventional oscillator and filter, the performance of the new onewas better. It was built by fewer circuit components and would be implemented in ICmore easily. So it would have great potential for development.
