Design And Implementation Of DVB Soft Subtitle For Hi3716Platform

Since the beginning of the1990s, digital TV has experienced a rapid development.Especially in the European countries and country like the United States, digital TVcoverage has reached100%. Subtitle is crucial for the digital television system. On onehand, those audiences with the hearing-hazards completely rely on subtitles to understandthe audio part of television programs. On the other hand, digital TV programs have spreadacross the country’s borders, so providing multi-lingual subtitles can make audiencesspeaking different language understand the meaning of program.Soft subtitles in DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) include Teletext and DVBSubtitle. As a result of digital set-top boxes cost-down, fuselage memory is very small insize and bus frequency is low. In order to give users a good experience, we design a datastructure based on the hash table and memory pool for teletext storage, we also proposedan elimination algorithm based on the Z-page for the page replacement strategy of teletext.They afford fast access to page data in memory and improve the memory utilization byavoiding memory fragmentation. A congestion control algorithm is also designed forsubtitle synchronization to avoid data loss and poor display of subtitles. A newarchitecture of graphics display for subtitles displaying is designed to meet goals such asgraphics display and modules independence. This makes it easier to be integrated andtransplanted. Finally the paper presented the integration of the subtitle system into the realplatform.Experiments and testing shows that the system meets the design goals in terms offunctionality and performance I ‘d like to mention that memory utilization and graphicsrefreshing of this product are greater than others in the market, which enhances itscompeting.
