With the rapid development of social economy and production, a huge demand for electricenergy occures, and higher electric quality and reliability of power supply have to be meet.However, because of the rapidly growing grid scale and different kinds of electrical equipmentsaccessed to the grid, it is easy to pollute the grid circumstances, leading to partial failure,descending power quality and even threaten the grid’s safety, resulting in large-area blackoutwhich brings great loss and inconvenience to industrial production and the public’s daily life. It isthe foundation to find the problems that threaten the grid’s safety and efficiency in time and actrelatively on the base of automation of operation, control and management.However, as of the store-query model adopted by relational database, it’s not easy to reachreal-time monitoring data. If refresh the database continually it may bring the result of networkcongestion. It becomes difficult and contradictory on how to get access to real-time data andenhance the query capability to monitoring data.To solve the problems mentioned above, this paper introduces the Complex Event Processingtechnology, a new information processing technology which is a new choice to build event driveninformation system. It can process different type events from different sources. This paper mainlystudies the real-time grid monitoring system based on CEP. What has been done are as below:First it studies the related theories of grid monitoring and CEP. Then it studies the real-time gridmonitoring infrastructure based on the theories closely including the overview of real-time gridmonitoring, the real-time grid monitoring infrastructure based on CEP, system deployment andperformance analysis. Of these, the real-time grid monitoring infrastructure and the deployment ofthe CEP-based real-time grid monitoring system are the key points. They mainly talk aboutmonitor center, CEP-based sensor and data reduction, drive trigger management and interfacestandard. While the latter one analyze how to deploy a CEP-based monitoring system. Last but notthe least, I put the theory to practice to prove the feasibility, rationality and scientificalness by theempirical study.
