Design And Implementation Of Smart Home System Based On Android Platform

With the development of technology and the improvement of people’s livingstandard, the smart home system which represents high quality life has been graduallyfound in every family. The smart home constructed a highly effective residentialfacility and family affairs agenda system. It improves the home security, convenience,comfort, artistry and also realizes the environmental protection and energy savingliving environment. Google released Android open source mobile operating system in2007, which is based on the Linux kernel. In few years, it have got a rapiddevelopment and also permeated each aspect of our life. As a result, the smart homesystem based on Android platform is becoming a hot topic.This thesis is committed to the design and the implementation of smart homesystem with Android platform. The key technologies of this research included theseitems such as Android system architecture, communications protocol, hardwaredecoding, streaming media technology and RTP（Real-time Transport Protocol）. Onthe foundation of analysis of the smart home system, this paper taking the advantageof the open source characters and the architecture gradation of Android system havedesigned the overall framework and scheme. And the process of projectimplementation is also shown by this thesis.First of all, based on the studies of smart home system and Android system, weanalyzed the system’s hardware architecture and software architecture, expoundedtheir logical organization and functions of architecture, and ported Android system tothe hardware platform, and completed the project of development platform-structures.Then, combined with the Android system architecture, give out the integral design ofsmart home system, among which function scheme was built in the application layerof Android, communication protocol based on the UDP, and the system frameworkwas designed using modular method. Afterwards, we implemented the whole systemon the Android platform. Take advantage of Android GUI system and applicationdevelopment methods to complete the interface and functional modules procedures.In this part, Focused on the realization of visual intercom function, using VPU realized hardware decoding of MPEG4. At least, we introduced streaming mediaaudio transmission technology in the smart home system, realized audio streamingmedia real-time sharing, it has important guiding significance to realize streamingmedia information real-time sharing on smart home system. Has been tested, thesystem is running well.
