Recently, data video has more and more strong relations in many applications. At the same time compression ratio becomes higher than before, and the image quality of playing video is the focus which has been researched.Firstly this document describes the history and the development of the video. Sequently the second chapter mainly introduces the image compressing technology and the basic theory. Many scientists constantly seek the new technology for image compression. Image enhancement is still the main direction in image application. Of course the algorithms about it still are valid in video playing. The third chapter is about MPEG code method. In fact video can be regard as a serial of images. So video coding technology partly uses the algorithms which were used in image. But video has its own characters, for instance motion relativity, so video algorithms are more complex. MPEG4 is much adapt to network, it make video more adaptive towards network application. The forth chapter present the streaming media, which is the MPEG4 application in network. It changes the transmission way in conventional VOD or video conferencing system. For streaming media, there are new protocols. Streaming media improves the network transmission of video and saves the resource. In the fifth chapter ,according to the above content and the software for instance COM ,DirectX and so on . There is a design for player and enhancement the quality of zooming image in video. Because of using the DirectShow, the player will match the windows very well. But the method only aims at the fault which caused by the player software but not the network.
