The production scheduling in Shipbuilding includes designing, Assembling,material, technology and many other areas. There is a large amount of data andinformation which should exchange and share in each area. It is important to managedata efficiently and quickly for the production plan.Traditional manual production plan can not adapt to modern shipbuildingrequirements. Using database technology can effectively improve the quality ofinformation management, reducing information redundancy, improve informationsharing. The paper sets up a platform of managing data based SQL Server2000,Visual Basic.NET and Plant Simulation. The platform could manage all types of datain shipbuilding enterprises production planning system and prepare production plan.The main contents are as follows:(1)Researching the general situation of our ship production and analyzing thecharacteristics and present situation of shipyard production plan. Then collected thegeneral situation of database technology.The application database technology inshipbuilding industry was analysised. The advantage of database technology wasrealized in the end.(2)The knowledge of production plan was studied systematically. Then theproblem of our production planning was analysised. Production planning system inshipyards based on the database technology was suggested. All the modules of thesystem were stated in detail.(3)According to the functional equipment of the system, I selected threesoftware to develop the system: SQL Server2000,Plant Simulation, Visual Basic.NET.The problem of connecting among software was solved. And through the example toillustrate.(4)The requirement analysis was determined according to the elementaryobject of the system. Since shipbuilding requires manufacturing by other factories,mixed structure system based B/S and C/S was selected. The database related to thesystem was designed in detail. Access authority was provided. Landing interface andkey function interface were designed. Operation process of the system wasintroduced.(5)Take the plate pretreatment for example, simulated of the original working time, then used GA module of Plant Simulation, get the final optimization results. Thesystem was proved to be feasible by comparing the two virtual operation time.
