With industrial scale development and the continuous improvement of the scientific andtechnology, the traditional PID controller that is simple, inexpensive and has good controlperformance can not meet the requirement of industrial production. AC asynchronous motor is astrong coupling, time-varying and nonlinear model. The traditional PID controller often can’tachieve its desired control effect facing with AC asynchronous motor. So this paper selects a bio-inspired optimization algorithm and combines with the modern control theory, in order to make adeep study to the intelligent control and optimization of AC drive system.Firstly, this paper introduces some common biological optimization algorithms, includingimmune algorithm, differential evolution algorithm, ant algorithm, particle swarm optimization andbacterial foraging algorithm. The bacterial foraging optimization algorithm is based on thedistributed bio-inspired optimization algorithm that has a better robustness. Chapter3analyses thecharacters of BFO, and intergrates the cooperative particle swarm algorithm and BFO dependingon their biggest advantages. Some classic functions are used to do performance testing for IBFO.Finally, simulation results show that IBFO has a better performance than conventional BFO.BFO is a kind of evolutionary algorithm that needs not to know whether the object has a precisemathematical model, so it can overcome the impact of variable, nonlinear and strong couplingeffectively. Therefore, this paper uses the improved optimization algorithm to optimize the PIDparameters of the closed-loop control of induction motor. In the fourth chapter, it usesMATLAB/SIMULINK software to experiment with the follow performance and anti-interferenceperformance of the system. In the last part of the paper, it describes and analyses the principle ofthe vector control system. Besides, it uses MATLAB/SIMULINK software to tune PID of thespeed regulator of the vector control system. At last, the simulation results show that the vectorcontrol system has a fast dynamic response and strong robustness and achieve the desired effectresearch.
