With the development in electronic components and microprocessors, the vector control which is advanced, effective and energy-saving could be achieved. The intention of this paper is a deep and comprehensive research about rotor speed estimation without speed sensor, which is based on the theory of motor steady equation.Firstly, some popular methods of speed estimation are introduced and their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed separately. And the open-loop observation which is carried out in this paper is voltage model with model reference equalization.Secondly, based on the voltage model and equalization, we could estimate the accurate speed of the motor when it is in low speed. And this paper also discourses upon relevant method about eliminating zero off-set. The hardware of control system is mainly composed of TMS320LF2407A and TMS320VC33. They are utilized for control and count respectively. And then, methods of simulate based on MATLAB for speed sensorless vector controlled induction motor drives are discussed thoroughly. The result of simulation proves the theory which is put forward in this paper. Finally, the method of speed estimation is realized in the induction motor experiment system based on the dual-DSP controller. The experiment results show that method of speed estimation is applied.
