As the development of the strategy named "broadband China", in order to speed up the realization of the goal of " City fiber enter into every household, rural broadband enter into the village, information service for all people", the access of PON based on fiber has become the main direction of the development of the future access network. As a result, the construction and management of Optical Distribution Network (ODN), which is a part of PON, is very important to the success of FTTH network.This thesis designed a scheme which has two different structures for different occasions to monitor the multi-channel parallel optical signals of the intelligent ODN. The first structure uses spectroscope to disperse and it is mainly used for multi-channel which the number of the channels is16,24or more. The second structure uses optical coupler to disperse and it is mainly used for the occasion which is below8channels.The main work points of this thesis are as follows:(1) Studied the fault and malfunction often occured in the ODN network and the corresponding detecting methods and solutions. Then cited the intelligent ODN programs developed by Huawei, and ZTE and analysis their theory and economy, we propose a scheme to monitor the multi-channel parallel optical signals of the intelligent ODN.(2) Made and encapsulated the PLC planar waveguide optical splitter in the laboratory independently which is the central device of the ODN.Then tested its performance.(3) Used the software ZEMAX to simulate the first structure of the scheme., to study about the parameters and the positional relationships of the devices in the monitoring system and optimize the scheme. The fiber coupling efficiency can reach above90%.(4) Build the experiment platform and do the verification test for the system function. Simulated the actual working in ODN network and observed abnormal changes of the signal to monitor the multi-channel parallel optical signals. To verify the feasibility of the scheme.
