With the rapid development of Fiber To The Home, the demand of high reliability, low-cost PLC (Planar Optical Waveguide) are growing continuously in the World. But the high packaging costs restricte the development of PLC, so it is significant to have research on the automatic packaging process of PLC. Solving the key technology in the automatic packaging process and developing automated packaging software can help to lower the cost of PLC and promote the rapid development of Fiber To The Home in China.The Output Intensity distribution model and the Alignment and Coupling Loss model of the Single-Model fiber and PLC are built. The simulation of Coordinate alternation method is made based on the Loss model. The advantages and disadvantages of Coordinate alternation algorithm and several other alignment algorithms such as Hill-Climbing algorithm, pattern search algorithm, Simplex algorithm, Genetic algorithm have been studied by our researching team were analyzed, which can guide the single channel alignment. The simulation of the impact of the Coupling Loss caused by the manufacturing error is made, which provided theoretical support for the design of the packaing software.The packaging technology of PLC is analyzed and the role of packaging is brought forward. The packaging software interface and modular design were completed based on VB The process and realization method of the hill-climbing algorithm, pattern search algorithm, coordinate alternation algorithm, composite search algorithm and the multi-channel alignment algorithm were researched.The experiments of single-channel alignment algorithm such as Hill-Climbing algorithm and pattern search algorithm, Coordinate alternation algorithm and Composed algorithm were completed, and found the algorithm composed of pattern search and coordinate alternation algorithm was the fittest one for the alignment, compared with hill-climbing method, it could reduce the search time by 75%, improve the search accuracy by 66.6%. the experiment of multi-channel alignment was finished, a new algorithm based on fast direction judgment was proposed, and the success rate reached 90%.
