Modelica-based multi-domain modeling and simulation software running ondesktop has many disadvantages over web-based software, it goes against the share anddeposit of knowledge, and its maintenance and updating is difficult. Multi-domainmodeling and simulation technology based on B/S architecture is researched, and amulti-domain modeling and simulation system—WebMWorks, which is based on web,is designed and implemented. In the development of WebMWorks, the model‘s graphicalvisualization is an important task. This paper adopts silverlight technology to implementthe visualization of models on browser side, and adopts WCF to implement the datatransmission between browser and web server. Throught a graphical text conversionalgorithm to convert the graphical entity list to the model mo text, and then generate thegraphical data file. This paper focuses on the Icon/Diagram View which is closely related to graphicalmodeling system on the network environment, and adopts SVG and GLB graphicsdata format, which are suitalbe for transmission in the network environgment. TheSVG is used for storing the model icon information, GLB saves model‘s componentinformation and component connection relation information. They completely preservethe model‘s graphical information, while occupies a little space. Proposed two-layerstructure of the document and view layers to ensure the separation of graphics datainformation and graphics display information. Finally realized icon modeling andcomponents modeling with basic graphics creation and editing functionality, andcomponent editing and connection editing functionality. Finally a modeling instance on the WebMWorks system is given. Through systemcomponent modeling instance and Icon modeling instance, verify the technical solutionproposed in this paper is practicable.
