With the advance of computer network technology, internet-based monitoringsystem has become a trend of remote monitoring technology. At the same time, thedevelopment of science and technology and the improvement of people’s livingstardands have speed up the application of wireless sensor network(WSN) in remotemonitoring. So far, internet-based remote monitoring system has seen some problemsto be solved in its application. For instance, the low expandability and low portability ofWSN caused by the design complication of the lower layer, the closeness andlow-complexity of network information management system, and the need ofredesigning WSN routing protocol when used to practical application, etc.First, in this paper, an embedded Linux system is ported to S3C2440microprocessor, on which a Boa web server is ported as well as a Sqlite3database, anembedded gateway is thus being built; based on CC2530Soc and ZStack protocol stack,a small WSN is built to gathering the data of CC2530chip; with the analysis of existingWSN middleware design methods, a cluster-based remote-monitoring-oriented WSNmiddleware design model is given, which is implemented on the embedded gateway andthe small WSN.Second, taking the remote monitoring of civilian gas alarm for example,on thebase of WSN middleware, and with SqlServer2005and J2EE technology,a WSNinformation system based on SSH integrated framework is realized. The demand of theWSN information system is given, and the database design, function and the interfacesamong modules as well as the integration of SSH frameworks is detailed. Test indicatesthat this system works well in data gathering, the portability and maintainability of thesystem have shown good performance, and the middleware works well. Finally, the analysis of AODV route protocol process and the possible problemswhen ported to WSN is done. In view of the problem of the extra energy consumption inbroadcasting and the unbalance of energy consumption, as well as the trait of singlepath propagating of AODV, and considering the advantage of routing tree and thepractical application of remote monitoring, a novel kind of multipath protocol namedMultiple Path Routing Protocol(MPRP) is promoted. Also the implementation of thisnew protocol by NS2is done as well as the simulation of the protocol, whose results show that MPRP gives certain advantages over AODV and suits remote monitoringapplication.
