The frequency modulated continuous wave(FMCW) laser radar is an apparatus togain the three-dimensional information of large-sized targets efficiently. It integrates theadvantages of the laser and the radar, such as a high precision, a lower requirement ofthe power,no blind region, etc. It can complete the three-dimensional measurements oftargets, combining with a two-dimensional scanning mechanism. Based on the basicprinciple of FMCW Laser Radar, the paper proposes a design of the optical system inFMCW Laser Radar, and demonstrates the feasibility of the design throughoutsimulation.First, it introduces the design of a high-precision laser radar system according tothe principle of FMCW, including configuration, selection of components and workprocedure. It analyzes these influences of the distance, the laser power and otherparameters. It simulates numerically the beat signal with the parameters with thepreselected components. Secondly, it gives a detailed analysis of the balanced detectionand the non-linear calibration, and it verifies the feasibility of the technologies bysimulating. Then, the thesis illustrates the error sources of the frequency discriminationbased on FFT and the algorithm of CZT which can improve the frequency accuracy. Finally, the precision model of the system is built. It proposes requirements for thevarious aspects based on the simulation. A standard interferometer is used to achieve ahigh-precision benchmark. The integrated precision of the design is given in the endbased on the data of the simulation.
