With the rapid development and technology innovation of the steel industry, thethree-section walking beam furnace has already replaced the original pushing-steelfurnace which is known as inefficient and poor product quality. It has been usedmore and more widely, and is developing towards the direction of large-scale,multi-functional, high-quality, high-yield, low-consumption, pollution-free andautomatic operation. It has a practical furnace project in Linyi, Shandong provinceas the background,based on Siemens S7-400PLC and monitoring software ofWinCC. From two aspects of motion control and burning control, the automaticcontrol system of three-section walking beam furnace has been studied andanalyzed.Motion control system: from three aspects of feeding control, motion control inthe furnace and discharging control,it has introduced their control principle andgiven their control flow chart.Burning control system:respectively, from seven aspects of furnacetemperature control, furnace pressure control, smoke control, shift control, airpressure control, fast cutting valve control, nitrogen purging and CO processing, ithas introduced their control principle and given their control diagram and alarmsystem graph, and put forward corresponding conventional PID or fuzzy PIDcontrol strategy.Finally, summary and outlook was given, the hope to have a certain significancefor safety production,saving energy and reducing consumption of China’s futuralwalking beam furnace.
