The Research Of Private Book-collection Of Fuzhou In The Republic Of China

The private book-collection of Fuzhou has a long history, and involved for more than a thousand years in its development and accumulation. The private book-collection of Fuzhou in the Republic of China succeeded the achievement of Qing Dynasty,and made some change and development, which can be called its transition period. In this paper, taking the Fuzhou private book-collections in the Republic of China period for the study basis,with the help of previous studies,I collected and analyzed local history files,bibliographic prefaces and postscripts, monuments,newspapers, bibliophile Dictionary and other materials to study the development social environment of private book-collection of Fuzhou in Republic China.Then I outlined the bibliophile’s life story,collection activities, thoughts of collection, characteristics of collection, and summarized the characteristics and contribution of the private book-collections of Fuzhou in the Republic China.
