Nanjing is one of the ancient cities in world which not only has been several Dynasty’s capital, butalso the history footprints of those years left behind. Once upon a time, NanJing was called ’JianKang’ asthe capital of Eastern Jin Dynasty. Therefore, this paper-research of ’JianKang Image’-focus onresearching cultural relics analysis and the methods of designing cultural relics exhibition of Eastern JinDynasty in order to offer solutions for designning cultural relics museum exhibition.This paper is divided into four parts. First part includes the summary of historical and geographicalalteration of Eastern Jin Dynasty and it’s capital JianKang to explore the capital in the Eastern JinDynasty on specific performance through geographical and cultural characteristics, thereby laying the basisand purport for this study. The second part mainly shows the exhibition ideas of Eastern Jin history andculture museum basing on collecting a lot of data, and the necessity of combing ’situational representation’with local culture. Meanwhile, in accordance with introducing the theory of combining scene representationwith local culture such as history and culture museum of Eastern Jin JianKang, the new connotation anddenotation of local museum exhibition design will be expanded. The third section discusses the basicstructure of exhibition types of Eastern Jin museum by analyzing its usage of display type, plot layout,display methods and facilities’ configuration and management. Consequently, the importance ofestablishing harmony relationship between exhibits and exhibitions is able to be highlight. The last but notleast, author’s graduate design will be used as an example to practice on how to establish Eastern JinJianKang museum step by step through analyzing some exhibits and relics which are involved in thiscultural issue. During a series of operations on these exhibits including display content and planning, siteanalysis, display elements, display type design, spatial modeling, model performance, graphic design andso on, the tendency for contemporory museum exhibition design in context of applications of new mediaand information technology will be summarized, and references or ideas of exploration and innovation formuseum exhibition design will be provided, too.
