The wireless sensor network is the third wave of the world information industry following the computer and the Internet. It has become the strategic focus of the new round of global economic and technological development. With the deepening of research, wireless sensor networks will be gradually integrated into people’s daily life and social activities in various fields. Wireless sensor networks usually will not alone be deployed in the monitoring region, but to the actual use of middleware to connect an external network by form a wireless sensor network application system. Middleware performance can directly affect the overall performance of the entire wireless sensor networks. So research of middleware has a very important significance. For more in-depth exploration of middleware technology, this paper describes a process of design and implementation on the middleware of meteorological observation systems based on wireless sensor network.In this paper, the design of middleware hardware platform based microprocessor ARM11S3C6410development board, so in the beginning of the article describes how to build a cross-compiler environment, transplant BootLoarder, compile the Linux kernel and the production of file system. Then through a detailed comparison of the the dsr and aodv routing protocols in delay, packet loss rate and routing overhead by using NS2simulation tools, the final choice aodv as the adhoc network routing protocol. This system succeeded to build a center-autonomous AdHoc network between the various subsystems of the middleware by transplantation on aodv routing protocol. It provides a reliable network channel for communication between the various subsystems of the middleware system. In the second half of the article describes a middleware application design and implementation. CDALS subsystem and CMOS subsystem composed of middleware systems. The CDALS mainly responsible for the wireless sensor networks and middleware systems network communications,such as receiving, parsing, storage, processing, packaging, sending information. The CMOCS connected CDALS subsystem and display platform of meteorological center information.And it has capable of receiving and forwarding CDALS subsystems and information platform, and also be able to adapt processing instruction from the information display platform. Overall, the middleware system completed the connection of heterogeneous network.This middleware has been applied in the meteorological sensor network system. In the actual work environment, it has the advantages of stable, reliable, and basically achieves the goal of the initial design.
