With the development of embedded system and the increasing market expansion, the requirements of people to the embedded human-computer interaction interface are increasing and the demands are higher and higher. Touch screen embedded GUI has become one of the user-interface technology development trends in today’s information age. We choose Qt/Embedded as graphical user interface development tools, design the environment monitoring system for environmental data acquisition and display. The system can be applied in the industrial fields or the agriculture fields which are strict with environmental factors. It has its unique advantages.The system is based on S3C2410microprocessor, embedded linux operating system and Qt/Embedded2.3.7development platform. We use sensor devices to measure environmental data, including temperature, humidity, light intensity and illegal invasion. The data are displayed on the touch screen. When the environmental monitoring values are abnormal, such as the temperature and light intensity are more than specified safety thresholds or there is an illegal personnel invasion, GSM module sends alarm information to administrator. The administrator can make corresponding processing in time. Through the ARM_Linux transplantation of embedded sqlite3database as well as the connection and call of QT/E and sqlite3, we can inquire the historical data on touch screen.In this paper, we design the overall design scheme of the environmental monitoring system, choose S3C2410A chip of ARM9series as the the processor of hardware platform and use the Embedded Linux operating system and Qt/Embedded as system software development platform. The paper introduces the construction of embedded linux platform, the design and transplantation of sensor drivers as well as the development process of application. At last, it introduces the design of the sqlite3database and query interface development, gives the relevant steps of transplantation and interface design, realizes the display, data storage and query functions of the environment data.Compared with the traditional environment monitoring methods, this system saves the cost of labour and is helpful for real-time management of the greenhouse. It also improves the accuracy of the data, realizes the real-time monitoring and the function of historical data query. The test results show that the system has perfect function and good stability. It can meet the requirements of real-time environment monitoring. So it has good application prospects.
