Enterprise Informatization (EI) can help the enterprise to achieve a more effectivemanagement, to improve its productivity and to save the cost. But the theories andapproaches of informatization vary among different enterprises or industries. The mainwork of Enterprise Informatization is undertaking the plan, selecting a suitableinformatization theory and building an information system based on the specificsituation of the enterprise as well as the scientific analysis and arguments.The informatization of Chengdu Panchenggang Construction Engineering Co. LTD(CPCE) is just at the beginning stage, but it has a strong demand for the use ofinformatization. In Chinese domestic strategy of improving informatization to lead theindustrialization, CPCE, as a small/medium sized enterprise in the traditional industry,has numerous typical features which countless such enterprises have, which makes it asuitable case.The project is to find out the goals and the requirements of informatizationconstruction by studying the informatization of CPCE.Theplan for CPCE’s initialconstruction of informatization has been formulated according to the EI theory. The planestablished following principles: overall planning and step-by-step implementation. Andit is also a comprehensive plan for the whole architecture of its information system. Thefirst thing is to build and improve its facilities for information system by completing thenetwork construction for the new office building. Secondly, the use of the key data canbe confirmed by screening the main services. Then B/S mode of Project InformationManagement System (PIMS) is developed as a breakthrough of informatizationconstruction.By completing this project, we will achieve: the realization of an initialconstruction of informatization through an efficient and economical way, the strongermanagement helped by software, a raised level of data use in its key services, a goodpractice of informatization approaches and a feasible guidance about futuredevelopment of informatization.At last, this report also proposed the expectations for the future EI applications and planed CPCE’s future constructions of informatization.
