Employment Information Management System Development Of Panzhihua College

Panzhihua University is a comprehensive undergraduate college which locates insouthwestern Sichuan and northwest Yunnan. The university bears the important task ofcultivating talents for local areas in verious fields, such as science, engineering,literature, economics, management and medicine. Thus the university has an importantimpact around southwestern Sichuan and northwest Yunnan.In Panzhihua University, there are almost4,000graduates who need the universityto provide employment management and services. At present, the university mainlydepends on one standalone information management system to process emplymentinformation, which is single functioned and of poor interaction. There exists manyproblems because of the lack of a full-featured employment information managementsystem: the management of information is messy and the university have no unified orcomplete system between departments and Enrollment and Employment Department;the update of information is slow and data redundancy problem is serious, which leadsto the fact that many issues cannot be addressed timely. This greatly hinders thedevelopment of emplyment management, therefore, a set of effective employmentinformation management system is needed urgently.Firstly, the author focuses on existing researches on information managementsystem in universities home and abroad, and carries out a specific study on theemployment information management system of Panzhihua Universiy based on a largeamount of literature collected and interviews in the university, so as to design a newsystem. In the system development process, the author and his team draw acomprehensive plan for the system by making use of planning method and Nolan model;they also performs the analysis of key technology and system need and establishoperation flow, data dictionary and data modeling. In addition, the author and his teamoptimize the system developing method from the aspective of software management andproject management.Then after analyzing the data processing and operation flow of the current employment information management system of Panzhihua Universiy and itssubsystems, the author chooses B/S structured database application mode to fix theoverall design and strcture of the new system, at the same time pays much attention tostudy and analyze graduates subsystem, administrator subsystem and companiessubsystem, and finishes the design of function ending, database and input/output for thesystem.At last, the author selects mueclipse as the main developing tool and MYSQLdatabase for implementation, which can operate after the system passes function andperformance test.This paper develops a new employment information management system forPanzhihua Universiy. The new system will help to improve the efficiency and quality ofemployment management work in Panzhihua Universiy and promote graduates’ jobhunting for Panzhihua Universiy. This study also offers some valuable reference forother universities to develop their employment information management system.
