Hopping communications equipment is widely used in military and civiliancommunications. To guarantee hopping communication equipment work properly, itdirectly relates to survival of the soldiers on the battlefield and the success of thecommunication between people in daily life. An important issue is how to detectwhether the device working properly. The indicators of frequency hop rate, hop cycleand hop bandwidth, which reflect the equipment properly or not. The measurements ofhopping signal carrier can reflect the hopping parameter.Research perspective of existing hopping carrier signal measurement algorithms, aremostly from the perspective of time-frequency analysis. Due to the mutual inhibition oftime resolution and frequency resolution, time-frequency analysis algorithms can notachieve high measurement accuracy.And the algorithm is very complicated, so it is notsuitable for real-time measurement. To this end, we propose solutions to meet thereal-time and high precision measurement requirements.We study the carrier frequency measurement algorithm from multiple aspects,summarize the algorithm from the signal type, complexity and accuracy. And taking theactual project measurement needs into account, we select the zero-crossing detection,Carson guidelines and digital phase-locked loop of three measurement algorithm,simulate three algorithms in matlab and verify the algorithm in software radio platform.First, the existing frequency measurement techniques are summarized. From timedomain, frequency domain, time-frequency and spectrum analysis four fields, I analyzeand combing the carrier frequency measurement techniques. Combined SSB modulation,FM modulation and BFSK modulation, the the hopping carrier signal characteristics andperformance requirements, screening out the zero-crossing detection, Carson guidelinesand phase-locked loop frequency measurement program.Second, the algorithm principle and research simulation performance are analyzed.The basic principle of the zero-cross detection, a digital phase-locked loop, and Carsoncriteria algorithm are studied. We respectively simulate the three modulation carriersignal in Matlab, analyze effect of the sampling points and the signal-to-noise ratio inmeasurement accuracy, and give the analysis results.Third, the algorithm is realized and the actual performance of the algorithm is tested.we realize the measurement algorithm on software radio platform. We test the actualmeasurement performance of the the hopping carrier signal on SSB, FM and BFSKmodulation. The test results show that, the capture time of less than0.45ms, to meet theneeds of2000hop/s; measurement error of less than1kHz, to meet the measurementaccuracy; carrier capture probability of99.8%.Based on the three hopping signal characteristics, we find various signals suitablealgorithm. The proposed test program is suitable for portable software radio platform, can solve the actual project encountered hopping carrier signal real-time, high-precisionmeasurement problems. Device is compact and easy to carry. It has a great use of spaceand commercial value.
