As an important part in the video system, Embedded video capture and videosignal processing has become a research hotspot in the field of computer with thedevelopment of computer technology and multimedia communications technology. Therequirements to video acquisition speed, image quality and transmission methods ofdistance learning systems, remote diagnosis system and video conference system arecomparatively high. Therefore, the research on embedded video acquisition applicationfield of video acquisition system has important practical significance.This article embarks from the basic principle of embedded system and relatedtechnology and the application of ARM system of RISC design idea, in-depth analysesthe architecture of embedded application system and the related problems in embeddedsystem development and transplantation. In the studies of the system, hardware platformuses the mature of the ARM architecture at present, image processing and centralcontrol chip use the Samsung S3C2410A chip, Software platform uses the embeddedLinux operating system, Based Video4Linux kernel drivers, application Video4Linuxrelated set of API functions, through the development board implements the USBinterface of the video image data capture and display. System finally realizes a kind ofembedded video image acquisition system based on the Linux platform, through thestudy of this article, the final solution of the current general video acquisition in manyproblems.This study is divided into four parts: First, discusses the theory of embeddedsystems, embedded Linux basic concepts and embedded systems development tools;Second, to build embedded video signal acquisition system development platform, alsoelaborated specific method; Third, embedded video capture program design and implementation; Fourth, system testing, and research summary.
