Library Information Management System Design And Implementation

The information management system of library has played a role in guiding and positioning library’s development as the library is digitalized and informationized. It directly affects the quality of the service the library provides to the readers and the library’s work efficiency.The research subject is based on the functions of the existing university library’s information management system. Combining with computer and related knowledge, such as multimedia technology, database technology, information management system knowledge and so on, a set of library information management system for Dongying Vocational College is developed in this research subject. The subject is based on the idea of software engineering. We make analysis of basic functions of the present library information management system, and propose a library information management system solution for Dongying Vocational College’s library. The research subject uses the visual modeling technology of UML and software development process of RUP to analyze the library information management system. And requirements are captured through use case analysis. And the main overall flow chart is gotten by further use case analysis. Then the information management system designed under the combination of J2EE technology and database technology. The system’s basic functions include managing the information of the library and managing the borrowing and returning of the books and so on.According to Dongying Vocational College’s actual situation, the system makes use of the computer technology to manage the information of the books and the documents. It improves the efficiency of searching the information, the use of library books and documents computer information management. It also facilitates the circulation of the users’ operation, saving their time to borrow, return and renew books. The system reduces the library’s management costs and improves management efficiency of the library.
