Anaiysis And Design Of PRD Management Information System

PRD Company, a small machinery manufacturing enterprise in Chongqing, ismainly engaged in the research and developing, designing, manufacturing andmarketing of spare parts of diesel engine, gasoline engine, generation set andagricultural machinery sets. In recent years, the company business has extended fastly.However, its development was retarded by old management model and backwardadministrative control. Information construction is the only breakthrough tomanagement modernization. Advanced management information system will not onlybring about the better information technique, but also help the company establishscientific management system, and so improve the management level. As the director ofPRD Company, the author took part in the developing and research of new informationsystem, mainly in plan and analysis, organizing and coordinating the teem to do thesystemic designing and implementation, and promoting its use in PRD Company.In order to construct the management information system for PRD Company, westarted with learning the present domestic and foreign research situation and analysisingthe existing problems of management mode in PRD Company, and then investigatedand analyzed the management information system based on a large of literature andinterview. From the plan of management information system of machinerymanufacturing, the management information system for PRD Company was analysedand designed with the method of software engineering.In system planning, we did full-scale analysis and investigation of the needs ofmanagement information system in PRD, defined the purpose and function of thissystem, constructed its network module, confirmed its structure and plan, and diddetailed description of the implementation.In system analysis, the focus was on the analysis of the business process and dataflow of two functional modules, production management and sale management.In system design, we used the entity relation diagram to design the conceptualmode of database, and worked out the information endocing plan according to theprinciples of information encoding techniques. In system implementation, in view of the actual situation of managementinformation system implemented in PRD Company, we compared all sorts of keytechniques and developing platfroms, thought deeply about the key techniques involvedin the system, and then chose the B/S structure as the database application mode.Windows NTServer was selected as main development environment, ASP.Nettechnology as the tools of developing and operating the connection of servers anddatabase servers.This study was helpful to increase the productive efficiency and management levelof PRD Company, decrease the cost of operating management, advance the level ofresource allocation, and then elevate the enterprise’s core competitive power. It had theexemplifying function for other manufacturing enterprises to develop managementinformation systems.
