With the development of modern communications systems, Miniaturization,weight lighting and high reliability has become a trend. Delay modules are widely usedin the fields of electronic warfare, satellite communications and high-precisionmeasurement equipments, especially in phased-array radar. In modern communicationssystem, high performance delay module means low insertion loss and low dispersion,except for miniaturization and light-weight.Using3D integration technology, Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC)technology has become a research hotspot for its excellent RF performance. So, torealize miniature and weight light delay line, with LTCC technology, has also become anew research method in this field.Firstly, this thesis illustrates the characteristics of LTCC technology, thendetailedly analyzes the established models about factors which influence performance ofLTCC stripline delay line, such as material and thickness of layer before co-fired, theform of interconnecting, stripline ground, via grid, layout of stripline, etc.Based on above research, two kinds of delay module are developed.1) delaymodule controlled by6digital signal at8.5-10.5GHz(X-band). The6delay units cangenerate1λ,2λ,4λ,8λ,16λ and32λ delay respectively, and the maximum delay is63λ(center frequency:9.5GHz, delay line length:819.0mm), minimal step is1λ. Layerbefore co-fired is composed of27layers of Ferro A6-M, and size of the delay module is46.1mm×40.0mm×14.0mm.2) delay module controlled by6digital signal at34.1-34.3GHz(Ka-band). The6delay units can generate1λ,2λ,4λ,8λ,16λ and32λdelay respectively. Layer before co-fired is composed of27layers of Ferro A6-M, andsize of the delay module is46.1mm×40.0mm×14.0mm.In summary, this paper takes deeply research on miniaturization of delay moduleand gets remarkable achievements, which play a positive role in this field, besides; thisthesis has important contribution to promoting miniaturization of phased-array radar, etc.
