With the development of communication network of transmission platform, the platform tend be as an structure basing on packet switched IP/Ethernet, and the test&control system followed to change to IP platform from TDM. However,,the problem is the timing protocols(NTP,etc) that widely used in IP network can not satisfy microsecond accuracy demand of test&control system. So a study on high precision timing synchronization becomes to be anxious to a packet switched network.The main studies that introduced in this paper include following subjects:1. A study on IEEE1588protocol in detail. Applied IEEE1588protocol on LM3S8970software and hardware platform by transplanting μC/OS-Ⅱ and LwIP to LM3S8970hardware platform.2. Evaluating the capability of IEEE1588protocol in a way of emulation testing basing on LM3S8970system time devices, a conclusion that a microsecond range timing synchronizaton is practical with IEEE1588protocol on a LAN.3. Author consider that a fuse method of IEEE1588protocol with synchronizing ethernet is proposed to carry out high precision timing transmission. The application of IEEE1588protocol on IP special net are visualized.A technique support on high precision timing synchronization on IP special net is provided through this study. A better application foreground would be achieved on IEEE1588protocol in IP special net.
