Micro blog,07years of formal entry into China’s emerging media, is a step bystep affects our daily life and the form of thinking, and further profound influencesand changes our traditional media and information dissemination. In the face of thisnew thing, the article introduced the journalism, communication studies, psychology,economics and social science theories, from the definition and origin of micro-blog,analysis of micro-blog classification, propagation characteristics, micro-blog socialimpact and negative impact on coping strategies. According to the agenda settingtheory, the theory of the spiral of silence, the public view, the long tail theory, thetheory of use and satisfaction, use case study approach is discussed, as a new medium,micro-blog, its value meaning, problems lie, power limit of the. On how to properlyuse the micro-blog, overcome the limitations of their own, to achieve their true selfmedia method and puts forward some constructive suggestions.Micro-blog formally entered China in five years of short time only, but it is inthis short period of five years, Chinese society, in various fields because of itsemergence changed the turn the world upside down. Micro-blog has become thepeople to obtain information from, an important place. This does not mean thatmicro-blog will completely subvert or replaced by other forms of communication andtraditional media.
