Career apparel is closely linked with people’s daily work and life. Its mainfeatures are comfort and formal sense, therefore, a comfortable and fit type versionis crucial. This paper demonstrates a new industrial process of getting the clothingflat pattern pieces quickly. It is more visible than the garment CAD software in termof the converting process of3D to2D. Flatten and pattern technology based onreverse technology has good flexibility, the operator can design the color, patterns,structure or special sizes to meet the diverse needs of the customer. By laserscanning technology and Geomagic software the clothing surface model isreconstructed based on the point cloud, eventually forming the NURBS surface.Before the process of unfolding, the digital model should be cut into different piecesaccording to the clothing-engineering-principles. And then, use the metal functionmodule in UG software to unfold the three-dimensional clothing pieces intotwo-dimensional panels. We can also redesign the garment through the3D touchdesign system (FreeForm Modeling Plus) in terms of color, patterns as well assilhouette. The designer can redesign the features of the original garment, such ascollar, sleeve, pockets, using the clay and surface character. After redesign, the newthree-dimensional clothing can be unfolded in the same way. Ultimately, thetwo-dimensional panels, after curve fitting and retaining the corresponding margin,become a version of the panel which can be directly used in the productive process.
