Research On Xun Zi’s Emendation And Exegesis By Wang Niansun,Yu Yue And Sun Yirang

Xunzi was s master of the Confucianists in latter stage of the Warring States andsummary scholar of Hundreds of academic. But the academic position of Xunzi roseand fell, the study of Xunzi’s academic was rough and twists too. Textual criticism wascurrent in the beginning of Qing Dynasty, there were many researchers and mastersappering in that period. Wang Niansun of Qian-jia, Yu Yue, Sun Yirang of late QingDynasty all made special research on Xunzi. The three scholars were called scholiumauthorities because of their’s excellent scholium achievement of Qing Dynasty，their’sspirt and methods on research come down in one continuous line. With Xunzizazhi,Xunzipingyi and Xunzizhayi as object of study, the thesis concludes the contents, themethods of their research and discusses the peculiarities of collation’s methods andexplanation’s methods.The thesis is divided into five part: Chapter1is the introduction of development ofXunzi Ideology, retrospecting simply the research achievements on Xunzi’s emendationand exegesis from Tang Dynasty to late Qing Dynasty, introducing the fruits of thecurrent situation’s study on Note-Books and Note-Chapter by the three scholars.Chapter2introduces in a brief way lifetime of Wang Niansun, Yu Yue, Sun Yirang andtheir’s special writes on Xunzi, carding the relation of their’s academic origin. Chapter3analyzes and concludes the methods of the three Xunzi’s emendation. Chapter4analyzes and concludes the methods of the three Xunzi’s exegesis either. Chapter5compares the three Xunzi by listing data of different character’s quotes and emendationand exegesis’s methods, then discusses the peculiarities of the three Xunzi. The last isa few textual criticism of the three scholars’s research on Xunzi.
