Study On Testing System Of Optical Head Spot Based On NI Image Processor

The article aims at satisfying the requirements of optical headproduction line of Optical Valley High Definition Corporation. Thequality of optical spot has an important impact on performance of readingand writing dates fast and exactly. So the estimation of quality of opticalspot is one of the most important elements. The spot of the optical heademits were classified to micro spot. In system of optical storage, opticalhead focus the laser light sent by laser. After focusing, the diameter ofoptical spot is about1μ m, which remarkably enhances the density of datestorage. There are several factors which have great effect on date storage,reliability and SND of optical storage, such as size, shape and energydistribution. Thus, the quality of optical spot has a direct influence onperformance of optical head when it reads from or writes to the opticalstorage fast.Studying the performance testing of optical head is the aim of thistopic. In this topic, through using the Labview and the modules of NIVision to realize the collection of the spot, the processing of the spotimage and the extraction of the spot’s characteristic parameters. Thetesting system includes two parts, which are constructs the platform of theoptical testing system and the software design of the optical testingsystem.(1) The platform of the optical head testing system, which mainly areconstructed of the two parts. One is the laser drive circuit, another is themechanical adjustment platform of the optical head.(2) The software of spot testing system uses virtual instrumenttechnology to build the human-computer interaction interface mainly. Itprocess the collected spot to its gray level transformation, noise removal,segmentation, spot’s boundary acquisition, then choose the algorithm toextract the spot’s parameters in the high quality picture after processing,such as central position, radius, beam circularity and show the spot’s light intensity distribution ‘s three-dimensional and pseudo-color effects. so itcould affirm whether the property index of the spot is suitable.Through analyzing and contrasting the system this paper researchedand the consequence of the spot analysis meter,optical head spot testingsystem based on Labview is easy to use.It has reliable date and meet therequirement of quality testing on the optical head production line. For itssystem expansibility, high flexibility and low-cost, testers is easy toadjust the test items according the real detection situation. It also short thesystem development life cycle and prepare a foundation for optical headspot test system entering the industrial application.
