In order to meet the development needs of the modern wireless communication technology,the microstrip antenna and dielectric resonator antenna, as two forms of small antennas, had beengetting a wide range of research and application. Due to the good performance of the broadbandcommunications, such as high anti-interference ability, good confidentiality and largecommunication capacity, broadband communications has become research focus of the field ofcommunication technology, this requires antenna must have suitable broadband performance.The circularly polarized antenna has the Anti-rain and fog interference capability and themultipath reflection capability, and besides, it can eliminate the polarization distortion caused bythe Faraday rotation effect of the ionosphere. Thus, it is widely used in navigation, satellite,weapon guidance, mobile communications and other aspects. Therefore, the design of abroadband circular polarization microstrip antenna and a dielectric resonator antenna whichgathers the above-mentioned advantages has important theoretical and practical value.In this paper, using engineering applications that mentioned above as background, aiming atthe theory and design problems of broadband circularly polarized microstrip antenna anddielectric resonator antenna, combining with theoretical analysis, numerical simulation andexperimental verification method, to design a broadband circularly polarized microstrip antennaand a abroadband circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna, and made a detailed analysisfor the performance of the antenna. Main work and innovations are as follows:1.Outlined the basic theory of the microstrip antenna and the dielectric resonator antenna,analyzed the conditions that the antenna produce circularly polarized waves to be met, summarizedthe technology and methods to achieve circular polarization.2.Designed a complementary structure of broadband circularly polarized microstrip antenna.Focus on the theoretical analysis of the broadband principle of complementary structure antenna,and through simulation experiments to observe the antennas four phases of the surface currentdistribution in a cycle to illustrate the working principle of circularly polarized. Finally, throughsimulation to optimize the parameters, and produced a prototype to test, got the antennabandwidth basic coverage L and S-band(1~4GHz), and has dual circular polarizationperformance. Systematic summarized the test method of circularly polarized antenna system.3. Designed a four-feeder broadband circularly polarized dielectric resonator antenna.Theoretically analyze, when the multi-port feed, the impact on the performance of the axial ratio of the phase difference between the port and the frequency offset. Aimming at the problem oftraditional feed network`s phase shift narrow bandwidth, designed a new broadband feednetwork, and made the miniaturization improvement in the overall design of the antenna.According the principle of multi-harmonic to produce broadband, and theoreticaliy analized thedesign dimensions of the dielectric resonator antenna, and used the simulation results to verify it.Produced a prototype to test, the antenna has a wide beam performance, its workting band cancover four major satellite navigation system.
