With the formal implementation of the Mediation law of the People’s Republic of China in2011. Thekind of the mediation programs who focus on People’s livelihood have also appeared on the TV screen.<the mediation between the common people> is very popular with the local people, because of its strongregional characteristics. So the audience ratings has been high since the programs broadcast, but at thesame time, The original programs have revealed some problems.This article studies from the "uses and satisfaction" theory perspective, choose <the mediationbetween the common people>of Henan TV as an example, with the method of case study, the method ofText analysis and the method of literature,analyze <the mediation between the common people> fromseveral angles. That is the background and reason of the column to fame. Firstly, it has strong demand;secondly, it made a good response to demand; thirdly, it has its own unique advantages, and plays a goodsocial function.Finally, the article combs the existing problems of the column, for example, Personal privacy issues tothe public, unprofessional mediation, lack of follow-up service, lack of interaction, and puts forward thecorresponding suggestions according to these problems. In the author’s opinion, the column should beimproved from the following aspects:protecting the privacy of the parties; strengthening professional learning, updating concepts; adding thefollow-up service; adding the interactive linkBased on above study, the author hopes that this study can not only promote the development of <themediation between the common people> of Henan TV but also can play a certain reference role to the othermediation programs. Accordingly, the mediation programs can get further development and innovation tomeet the emotional needs of the parties and the audiences, resolve the existing contradictions and problems.And finally, the society can be harmony and stability, and also the social benefit and economic benefit canbe unified.
