As an intuitive and convenient means of security, video transmission system can substitute for a long period of manual duty, and thus attract more and more people’s attention.Traditional video transmission terminal try to the collection and transmission of image data in wire and analog signal, this approach is flawed in terms of the flexibility, security, and intelligence. With the rapid development of computer technology and broadband wireless networks, the new video transmission system based on wireless transmission and digital encoding has become a research focus. This paper describes the specific design of a new wireless video transmission systemd presented a new packets assign mechanism for video transmission based on TFRC of dual-channel. The hardware platform of this system is based on the s3c6410processor of ARM1176JZF-S core structures, and the software system is based on the embedded Linux system. The terminal transfer the encoding video RTP stream through the EVDO network, the server software is responsible for receiving video data packets and decoding to the image. The paper describes the overall design of the video transmission system firstly.and then introduces the design and theoretical knowledge about every module in the entire terminal system by chapters, including ARM-linux cross compiler environment’s setting up, achievement of bootloader, customization of the kernel and root file system implementations, video capture moudle based on V4L2and the H.264video coding moudle based on mfc. The transmission aspects of the the system is based on RTP/RTCP protocol, the NALU video stream unit is enclosed in RTP packets, using TFRC algorithm to achieve congestion control. The system transmit video data of H.264format with double EVDO modules, effectively improved the transmission bandwidth. The test shows that the system is able to transfer4CIF (704×576) resolution format video data smoothly.
