Distributed Workflow System For Research Agent Model

With the development of computer science and software technology,as well as the strong demand for enterprise’s informatization, people began to use workflow technology to organize business process,handle business logic and manage organizational structure.workflow management technology has greatly made up for the deficiency of traditional enterprise information system. It also plays a more and more important role in the improvement of enterprise management ability,the improvement of quality of customer service etc.Today there are two different types of workflow execution and control mode:the centralized mode and the distributed mode. The traditional workflow management system use centralized mode to execute and control process, which lead to the low efficienty of process handling,low throughput of system and samll coverage of process definition. The distributed workflow management system not only make up the shortcomings of centralized workflow management system,but also has many advantages such as stronge scalability,high efficiency,good fault tolerance and high reliability. With the rapid development of computer network, the distributivity, isomerism, and autonomy of enterprise information system have become more and more apparent. It can be infered that centralized workflow system will be replaced by distributed workflow system in the future.However, the implication and management of distributed workflow system is hard.besides,it still has many problems to be reslove,such as the sharing and synchronization of data between engins,the transition of process execution state. Agent technology provide a solution for the implication of distributed workflow system.Agent has many features such as autonomy,interactivity,initiative,which not only can make workflow control its own behavior by strategy,response to the change of environment quickly and interact with other server,but also can solve problems such as sharing and synchronization of data between engins.In this paper, a distributed workflow system structure which is based on Agent and Agent model is put forwarded. This Agent model consists of Three modules:the remote workflow interface module,Agent control model,and Agent communication module. After the functions of these three modules have be analysised,an Agent model used for distributed workflow system has been designed and implied by JavaEE and XML technology.
