The paper pointed out the case that the electrosurgical knife may cause burns accidentdue to its excessive output power based on the principle analysis of electrosurgical knife.China’s current electrosurgical knife detection status have been discussed, and theshortcomings of the existing electrosurgical knife, such as the long testing cycle ofdetection method, the expensive submission cost and the no-representative test results havebeen listed. At present, there are no independent research and development ofelectrosurgical knife detector, and the monopoly prices of imported instrument areexpensive. The all of the above shortcomings of the traditional detection methods havebeen avoided by the design of a low-power, low-cost and network measurement inelectrosurgical knife detection system. It is ensured that the burn accident is no longerhappened due to the excessive output power of electrosurgical knife.The feasibility and measurement error have been compared theoretically between thesampling calculation and the RMS voltage(Root mean square value of alternating-current(ac) voltage) measurement method. The RMS voltage method has been chosen to measurethe output power of electrosurgical knife according to the comparison result andrequirements of the detector. The non-inductive resistance has been adopted aselectrosurgical knife’s load and the load resistance has been adjusted with relays. Thedetection results of electrosurgical knife has been aggregated through the formation of lowpower, lower cost ZigBee network. The transplanted WinCE operating system and ARMprocessor driven touch screen have used as the instrument operator interface. This systemhave shorten the measurement period, reduced the procurement costs, and hospital’selectrosurgical equipment can be test regularly, and all the test results can be gathered andqueried through ZigBee network.In the first chapter, the status quo at home and abroad and the test methods forelectrosurgical knife have been analyzed, and the main topic contents presented. In thesecond chapter, the methods of two core functions have been realized and the appropriatemethod of power measurement and network establishing have been selected by design and comparison based on the principle of electrosurgical knife in accordance with therequirements of chapter1. In the third chapter, the design programs have beendemonstrated, the realization methods of the sub-function and module device selectionhave been determined. In the fourth and fifth chapter, the hardware and the softwaresystem have been designed. The reliability of this power detection system has been verifiedby comparing the measurement data with the qualified imported electrosurgical knifedetector.Through the research, the power detection system design and development ofelectrosurgical knife have been fulfilled.Experimental results show that the desired designgoals and requirements have been achieved.
