With the processing of China’s meat industry competition, the concentration ofmeat industry is increasing. Gradually formed a few leading enterprises throughout thechain pattern. Other companies on the supply chain, which include farmers, brokers,wholesalers, logistics providers, and so on. As for the perspective of the level ofinformatization, is often the case: large-scale leading enterprise information technologyhas reached a high level, while the other supply chain associated small and mediumsized operators are at a relatively early stage, because limited scale, lack of funds andpersonnel to establish or maintain an IT system. This restricted the level of informationof the whole supply chain, making the business collaboration between enterprisesdifficult to achieve.This paper tries to solve the above problems using ASP (Application ServiceProvider, Application Service Provider). This paper studies a case, YR company useestablish a ASP platform to link business partners together to improve the efficiency ofthe whole supply chain. We expect to get some valuable practice from this case study.This paper first reviews the ASP model of research literature, including theapplication of the ASP environment, realization of the principle and framework. Then,we make a case study of YR using ASP platform to achieve whole supply chainoptimization. First, we analyze the level of YR leveraging information technology, andthe major problems it faces, which determine the project’s main objective is to create aplatform to enhance the company and the supply chain collaboration between businesspartners. Then, we discuss the main elements of project construction, buildingprograms and procedures, including the electronic trading platform, collaborativecommerce technology platform.Based on the case study, we can draw the following conclusions: ASP model is afeasible choice for SME to improve the level of informatization; the core largeenterprises in the supply chain can make themselves a application services provider,and consider other relatively small business partners as consumers. So SME can sharethe IT platform the core company provides, which they can not afford on their own. In this way, the efficiency of the whole supply chain and the performance of all relatedcompanies are improved. The consumers of application services, the SME on thesupply chain have different business processes from each other, so it is important toprovide a configurable and flexible platform to meet the different demands.
