In the past10years, telecommunication technology is widely used, but accompanywith the problem that the lack of spectrum resource. How to effectively use thespectrum becomes a crucial problem in telecommunication field. Cognitive network isthe technology that allows unlicensed users access the authorized spectrum to transmitdata that make no affect to licensed users. This technology broke the traditional law thatspectrum is fixed and statically allocated to licensed users and let unlicensed usersaccess the spectrum by opportunity.Nowadays, the internal and international research of cognitive network is mostlylimited in theory and simulation, and the research on implement field is lack. In thispaper, a new cognitive MAC protocol MCC-MAC is designed and implement on GNURadio platform and based on USRP hardware. It works in single transceiver andmulti-channel scenario and can handoff channels in case of channel situation andprimary user arrival.According to MCC-MAC, new wireless business like smart grid and public safetynet can use the spectrum which is allocated to licensed user like TV channel. It makesnew business act as cognitive user to use licensed spectrum, can rise the utilizationfactor and make cognitive user get larger bandwidth. The significance of MCC-MAC isstudy the action mode of cognitive MAC based on CSMA itself and relation to licenseduser, reaction between cognitive MAC and upper protocol compare to traditional MACand how to implement the MAC-PHY combined design. This paper is around MCC-MAC design theory and framework, implementMCC-MAC on GNU Radio platform and verification of MCC-MAC by transmittingnetwork radio streaming and spectrum analyzer three parts to describe.
