The Internet of Things has got a good momentum of development under thepromotion of the national12th Five-Year Plan, especially the application fields havebeen rapidly enlarged. Wireless sensor networks, as an important part of the Internet ofThings, has been obtained widespread concern in the areas such as smart sensors andwireless monitoring.Currently, some wireless network systems appeare on the market. However, thewhole solution is expensive and some manufacturers are using UART or USB toexchange data between the ZigBee network and the PC, which highly restrictes thecommunication distance. Although many companys use GPRS technology to resolverestricted communication distance, it also has some shortcomings.For these reasons, we design a low-cost, plenty of sensor interfaces’s ZigBeewireless network nodes and ZigBee-TCP/IP gateway according to the application,which can better meet the basic needs of the domestic application market of the wirelessnetwork based on ZigBee technology.Firstly, the research background of the ZigBee technology and the ZigBee protocolstack are analyzed, as well as the Z-STACK protocol-based programming model andmechanism.Secondly, the total design scheme of wireless sensor networks based on ZigBeetechnology has been proposed including the various functional modules. What’s more,the specific analysis of the design principles of the ZigBee-TCP/IP gateway is given. Inaddition, the theory analysis and simulation of printed circuit board antenna are finished.After finishing real antennas, the actual testing results show that the antenna’sperformance can meet the requirements of ZigBee wireless sensor networks well.Then, the details of system software including ZigBe wireless sensor network nodeand ZigBee-TCP/IP gateway are designed on the foundation of the designed specifichardware circuit, especially the programming method based on the ZigBee protocolstack and embedded operating systems.Finally, the system has been tested, and the test results have been analyzed.
