Management system with tape library is a radio and television industries solve themass data storage scheme design and development.This paper mainly uses the literatureresearch, investigation and analysis of system requirements, design and testing methods,according to the analysis of the theory of software development, information systemdevelopment theory, project management theory, the radio and television industry ofmass data storage to meet business needs.The main purpose of this research is to analyze, from the radio and televisionindustry of mass data storage business process function demand analysis, data modeland function frame design, design of model reference of famous foreign companiesstorage management system, dividing software module, system design, and finallycompleted the system development and testing.The main research tape storage technology, including LTO(Linear Tape Open),multilevel storage design, media file packaging technology, database design andoptimization technology, research work is summarized as the following three aspects:1. Study the tape storage technology, including tape library control multiple brandsand models by SCSI command mode, tape storage characteristics, LTO technology anddevelopment, through the Windows API control tape and tape the operation mode.2. Learning hierarchical storage architecture technology, including if the tapelibrary this traditional off-line equipment as near line device using the method.3. Learning media file knowledge, including AVI, WAV, MXF encapsulationformat understanding (not including the coding and decoding technology), able toreorganize and extract the files using the index information.4. The study of Well-known database characteristics including Oracle, IBM, andthe SQL including the difference between statements and performance tuning, maximizethe efficient use of resources and good performance of the database design tablestructure, reasonable use of index to access database.
