With the popularization of smart terminals, people eager to get a higher quality of mobilecommunication, especially higher transmission speed of the data services. In order to copewith the rapid growth of data traffic, the mobile communication network need to keepevolving. Then, LTE system and the MIMO technology has been introduced in the practicalnetwork. Because of busy communication services indoor, the operators are gradually toreplace the original unipolar distributed antenna through dual-polarized distributed antenna,which is equivalent to that the uplink of SISO upgrade to1×2SIMO. In response to the needsof the construction of dual-polarized indoor distributed antenna, based on the reality, wedesign a wideband dual-polarized ceiling omnidirectional antenna. The dual-polarizedantenna includes horizontal polarization and vertical polarization, and the frequency band ofhorizontal polarization is1710~2690MHz, besides, the frequency band of verticalpolarization is790~960MHz and1710~2690MHz.First of all, we describes the basic radiation principles and parameters of the antenna, andthe basic characteristics of symmetry diople. Then, Dual-polarized omni-directional antennais discussed separately in accordance with the vertical and horizontal polarization, anddesigned several vertically polarized omnidirectional antenna, also analyzed the horizontallypolarized omnidirectional antenna theory and design ideas. And then, vertical polarization andhorizontal polarization combined, several dual-polarized omnidirectional antenna is designed.By comparing several simulation results of dual-polarized omni-directional antenna, with thebest overall performance, asymmetric biconical dipole circular array antenna is chosen as thefinal design(asymmetric biconical dipole circular array antenna refers to the use of theasymmetric biconical to achieve the vertically polarized omnidirectional radiation, and usingprinted dipole horizontal plane circular array to achieve the horizontally polarizedomnidirectional radiation, through appropriate composition, then forming dual-polarizedomnidirectional radiation). And then to optimize the performance of the the asymmetricbiconical dipole circular array design, including the radiation parameter optimization design,active impedance matching design and feed network design—power divider. Finally,according to the results of simulation optimization, and the antenna prototype is manufactured, and the corresponding parameters were measured to verify the design results. The test resultsshow that the antenna meet the design goals of this topic.A broadband dual-polarized omni-directional antenna is successfully designed. theantenna not only has good performance, but also the appearance of small size, low cost andbroadband. It has a good market in the indoor-systems of optimize communication network.
